Sharon Mckenna

Born in Vancouver BC, Sharon spent her early childhood in Nova Scotia, the birthplace of her father.  Since she was a child, Sharon was interested in Art.  Her earliest drawings were of animals, first drawn in pencil, then ink.  At her mother's urging at teh age of 16, Sharon began to draw people.  She especially loves drawing older folk and is able to tell life stories of her subjects by the lines  and expressions on their faces.

She doesn't limit herself to any one subject in her drawings.  She can turn old buildings and houses into three-dimensional paintings of houses and barns. Sharon mainains she can feel the spirits of the long ago residents of these hones and barns.

Sharon has had her work shown in galleries all across the country.  Besides her painting and the job of running a very successful business, the Raven Gallery and Frame Shop in Tatamagouche, she finds time for her other interests, woodworking, cartooning and spending time with her friends.
