David Wright trained as a painter in England receiving a First Class Honors Degree and Masters Degree in Fine Art.

In 1985, Wright's paintings changed from the large scale modernist, "megavisual" constructions that characterized his early work to the oil paintings of landscapes, cityscapes, still-life and interiors - inspired by places he knows and by the light that illuminates them.

His paintings are included in over one hundred public and corporate collections including the Canada Council Art Bank, Bell Canada, Toronto Stock Exchange, Alistate Insurance and American Airlines.

Since 1993, David has been dividing his time between painting studios in Canada and Mexico; currently a resident of Liverpool, Nova Scotia.
